Marion R. Moorman
Marion R. Moorman, 78 passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, July 13, 2013, at her daughter’s home in Walbridge, after an extended illness.

She was born August 16, 1934, in Middle Point, the fifth and youngest daughter of the late J. Herbert and Bernice (Ringwald) Davies. She graduated from Ridge High School and was employed over the years at Central Mutual Insurance Company, Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert Area Visiting Nurses and Eaton Corporation.
She grew up in, and was a member of, Middle Point Presbyterian Church, and later First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert. She was very active in both churches as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher, children’s choir director and youth group leader.
As a great-granddaughter of Welsh immigrants, she loved music and singing, and enjoyed the Gymanfa Ganu singing festival each year. Her life was devoted to lovingly caring for her family, and helping those around her in any way she could. She spent a lot of time in volunteer activities, and immensely enjoyed reading and swimming laps at the YWCA and YMCA. She will be remembered for her laugh, sense of humor, work ethic, and selfless, caring attitude.
Survivors include four children, Linda (Mark) Hartman, Jay Moorman and Julie (Danny) Doner, all of Van Wert, and Kimberly (Terry) Mull of Walbridge; four grandchildren, Drew (Courtney) and Evan Doner, and Alyssa and Amy Hartman, as well as a great-grandson, Jericho Doner. Also surviving are two sisters, Mary Louise Voltz of Frankfort, Ind., and Shirley Harter of Van Wert.
Two sisters, Phyllis Wuttke and Lois Jean Davies, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, at Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert. Private family graveside services will be held at a later time at Ridge Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.
Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
Preferred memorials: Trinity Friends Church Food Pantry and Alzheimer’s Association.
