A Bryan man entered guilty pleas to charges stemming from the throwing of explosive devices into the yard of a Van Wert County residence during a hearing held Monday in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court.

Ronald McBride, 42, entered a plea of guilty to a prosecutor’s bill of information filed by Van Wert County Prosecutor Charles F. Kennedy III charging him with four counts of unlawful possession of dangerous ordnance, each a felony of the fifth degree.

McBride was previously charged with four counts of illegally manufacturing or processing explosives, each a felony of the second degree. Those counts were dismissed in exchange for his guilty plea on the lesser charges.

Judge Charles D. Steele ordered a presentence investigation and scheduled sentencing for 9 a.m. Wednesday, September 4. McBride was ordered released on electronically monitored house arrest until his sentencing.
