YMCA updates info on fall registration

The YMCA of Van Wert County fall youth sports registration will start Monday, July 22, through Saturday, August 24.  This includes registration for flag football, girls’ volleyball and soccer.

Flag football games for ages 3½-5 and 6-8 years old will play on Thursday nights, starting September 19 and ending October 24. The 9 years and older divisions will play on Tuesday September 17, through October 22.Soccer games will be held on Saturday mornings starting Saturday, September 21, through October 26; and girls’ volleyball games will be held on Monday evenings, September 16 through October 21.

New to the fall youth sports lineup will be a junior high soccer league for seventh and eighth graders. Along with the addition of the junior high league, the youth sports program will award a “player of the game” medal to one player at each game and will host a pool party at the end of the year to celebrate the season.

“Implementing these new fun events has the kids that are playing the game excited and focused, hopefully they are making childhood memories while encouraging new players to come out and participate,” said YMCA Program Director Mitch Price.

Registration fees are $15 for family members of the YMCA of Van Wert County; $25 for youth members and $60 for non-members.
