Ronald “Pete” Weddle
Ronald “Pete” Weddle, 81, of Rockford, died early Thursday morning, July 25, 2013, at his residence after a brief illness.
He was born August 15, 1931, in the home in which he lived, the son of the late Howard Weddle and Lucille Houser Cook, and was raised by William and Louella Andrews of Rockford, both of whom also preceded him in death. On September 26, 1959, he married Myra (Birt) Weddle at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater, and she survives in Rockford.
Other survivors include two sons, Randy (Jackie) Weddle of Dayton and Rick (Kae) Weddle of Vandalia; a daughter, Laura (Michael) Roth of Rockford; two sisters, Marsha Higgens of Union City, Ind., and Lynne Cook of Union City, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A grandson; one brother, Frank Weddle; and a brother-in-law, Robert Birt, also preceded him in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 29, at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Rockford, with Father Ken Alt officiating. Burial will be in Stringtown Cemetery in Rockford.
Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, July 28, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, where a prayer service will be held at 8 that evening.
