PARRIS ISLAND, S.C. — Joshua Bolenbaugh, a 2009 graduate of Van Wert High School graduated July 3 from the Marine Corps boot camp at Parris Island Marine Corps Recruit Depot in South Carolina. Bolenbaugh graduated with the rank of private first class (E-2), with special recognition as an “expert marksman.”

PFC Bolenbaugh was in the Third Battalion, India Company, Platoon 3051, which was named the “honor platoon” for his boot camp session.

After a well-deserved 10-day leave, PFC Bolenbaugh will report to Camp Geiger, N.C., for Marine combat training, which will last approximately 30 days. After that, he will report to electronic maintenance school in Twenty-Nine Palms, Calif.

PFC Bolenbaugh is the son of Jeff Bolenbaugh of Fort Jennings and Lynn Bolenbaugh of Mansfield. Paternal grandparents are Jack and Sharon Bolenbaugh of Van Wert and maternal grandparents are Bill and Mary Fallis of Ohio City.
