Sheriff’s K-9 to retire

Van Wert County Sheriff Thomas Riggenbach announced the retirement of Mojo, his department’s K-9 unit. Mojo, a German shepherd, had been assigned to Deputy Nathan Huebner since September 2008. During their time as a K-9 team, Mojo was used for a number of duties, including tracking suspects, drug searches, building searches, article searches, serving search warrants and K-9 demonstrations to the public. Mojo also assisted other agencies in many of the same duties. During his time of service, Mojo assisted the sheriff’s department in finding drugs, several items and located a suspect who fled after a robbery attempt.
