Ohio Dept. of Transportation news

LIMA – The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) seeks public input on projects proposed for District 1. The projects include the following:

Districtwide

Miscellaneous bridge maintenance activities, such as patching and sealing concrete surfaces on various structures within District 1.

Paulding County

ODOT logoSafe Routes to School project/Antwerp Phase II – Project to be funded with federal Safe Routes to School grant money. The Village of Antwerp and Antwerp Local Schools will add a new sidewalk along the west side of Harrmann Road from Antwerp School to Canal Road, and along the north side of Canal Road from Harrmann Road west to Kroos Drive. Traffic will be maintained at all times.

ODOT Garage in Paulding County – ODOT sponsored project includes acquiring land for a new full-service facility at the existing Paulding County garage site to replace the existing out-of-date facility. An adjacent property was put up for sale by the current owner and ODOT is seeking to purchase it. Once purchased, the existing structure will be removed to prepare for a new facility. Property purchase is scheduled for this summer, but no schedule has been set for demolition of the existing structure and construction of a new facility.

Putnam County

Old State Route 12 – The project is proposed by the Putnam County engineer and is located on old SR 12 over the Ottawa River. The project entails replacing the existing bridge with a three-span, prestressed concrete beam bridge. Traffic would be detoured during this project, which is scheduled for May-September 2015.

Van Wert County

West Main Street reconstruction Phase II – The phase of the West Main Street project would run from Fisher Avenue to John Brown Road.  The project would include widening the street and placing curbs, curb ramps, sidewalks, new storm sewer piping and manholes. An eight-inch water main and fire hydrants are also part of the proposed project. Construction is currently scheduled to begin in May 2015.
