VWMS sets orientations, open houses

VWMS information

The Van Wert Middle School has provided 2013-2014 opening of school information for parents and students.

Sixth-grade students are invited to orientation from 9 a.m.-noon on Friday, August 16. The orientation is for students, but parents will have an opportunity to meet with teachers and administrators throughout the morning. Sixth-grade students should enter for orientation using the VWMS main canopy entrance on the north side of the complex. Sixth-graders will enjoy a complimentary pizza lunch to conclude the orientation and may be picked up at noon at the VWMS gymnasium entrance.

Sixth-grade students’ parents are invited to a parent “open house welcome” from 9-10:30 a.m. August 16, beginning in the Niswonger Performing Arts Center’s First Federal Lecture Hall. Parents may park and enter using the VWMS main entrance canopy doors.

Parents will enjoy an informal informational meeting focused on a positive start to middle school from teachers and administrators. There will also be an opportunity to visit individual classrooms from 10-10:30 a.m.

In addition, parents may pay student fees in the office at this time.

Seventh- and eight-grade students can stop by the school any time between 9-11 a.m. Monday, August 19, to pick up class schedules, try out their lockers and pay fees. Students should enter through the VWMS main canopy entrance.

Parents of seventh- and eight-grade students are invited to a parent open house from 9-10 a.m. that day, beginning in the First Federal Lecture Hall. Parents may park and enter through the VWMS main canopy entrance.

Parents of seventh- and eighth-graders will also participate in an informal information meeting focused on a positive start to middle school conducted by teachers and administrators. Parents will also have an opportunity to tour individual classrooms from 10-11 a.m. that day and may pay student fees in the office.
