Russell J. Linton

Russell J. Linton, 89, of Ohio City, died at 6:10 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2013, at Lima Memorial Hospital.

He was born October 4, 1923, in York Township, the son of the late Marion Russell and Marguerite Kathryn (Reed) Linton. On April 9, 1944, he married Flora Mae (Stemen) Linton, who survives in Ohio City.

Other survivors include two sons, Larry (Susan) Linton of Van Wert and Terry (Marsha) Linton of Coldwater, Mich., two daughters, Kathryn Russell of Houston, Texas, and Pamela Army of Ohio City; three brothers, Lewis (Betty) Linton and John (Karen) Linton, both of Van Wert, and Paul (Rita) Linton of Celina; a sister, Elenora Rank of South Bend, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

A brother, David Reed Linton; and one sister, Mary Alice Thomas, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 18, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Kevin Wilcox officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City, with graveside military rites performed by American Legion Post 346 in Ohio City.

Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, August 17, at the funeral home.
