Early Childhood Center plans meetings

Van Wert City Schools news

Van Wert City Schools’ Early Childhood Center (ECC), which houses the district’s preschool and kindergarten classroom, has announced a meeting for parents of incoming kindergarten students on Tuesday, August 20, as well as an open house.

Starting at 6:30 p.m., parents are asked to meet in the commons of the ECC to hear an introduction of staff and an overview of the school year. Staff will share information, including screening, classroom expectations, building procedures, student drop-off and pick-up and more.

“With so much change occurring in so many areas of our children’s educational experience, we wanted parents to have an opportunity to hear how it is impacting what we do at the ECC,” said ECC Principal William Wisher. “Students will be able to visit their classroom during their screening.”

Parents will receive an informational mailing detailing classroom teacher assignment, a screening date and time, and a reminder of the documents required for entrance.

Preschool students are invited to an open house on Thursday, August 29, from 4-6 p.m.  Parents and students are welcome to bring supplies to the classroom and meet the students’ teachers. Mailings have been sent to parents and more information will be presented in the commons that night.

Questions and comments can be directed to the ECC at 419.238.0384. The Early Childhood Center is located at 1120 Buckeye Drive, off of Ervin Road.
