VW girls’ tennis team loses to Shawnee

The Van Wert girls’ tennis team hosted Shawnee in a Western Buckeye League match held Thursday and lost 5-0 to the Lady Indians.

Individual match scores are as follows:

No. 1 singles – Van Wert’s Ali Moreland lost to Shawnee’s Isabelle Baird 6-2, 6-0.

No. 2 singles – Van Wert’s Sydney Dull lost to Shawnee’s Anita Kottopalli 6-1, 7-5

No. 3 singles – Van Wert’s Claire Butler lost to Shawnee’s Monica Glick 6-3, 6-2

No. 1 doubles – Van Wert’s team of Hannah Stemen and Sydney Felger lost to Morgan Holloway and Nkiru Anigbogu 6-0, 7-5

No. 2 doubles – Van Wert’s Tabatha Tennie and Kali Agler lost to Alexis Wei and Jasmine Binod 6-0, 6-0.

With the win, Shawnee is now 4-0 on the year, while the Lady Cougars fall to 1-3.

Van Wert also lost all four junior varsity matches played on Thursday.
