Handicapped offered hot air balloon rides

On Thursday evening, September 5, tethered balloon rides will be given to persons with special needs in the Van Wert County and surrounding areas.
Tony Sandlin, a very special pilot and a very special person whose balloon is handicap-accessible, will be conducting these rides. This event will take place at around 4:30 p.m. that day at the Van Wert County Regional airport.
Elks Lodge 1197, a sponsoring partner in this event, will provide food for special needs riders and their caregivers and those assisting in this event. Other sponsoring partners for this rewarding evening are Greve Chrysler Dodge and Jeep, Van Wert County Hospital, Fresh New Start, and Kenn-Feld.
Call 419.203.4100 or 419.232.2010 to schedule rides. Waivers must be signed by all riders or their guardians and must be completed before the ride.
