VW girls lose tennis match to Bryan

The Van Wert girls’ tennis team hosted Bryan on Tuesday, losing to the Lady Golden Bears 4-1 at the Van Wert County Foundation Tennis Complex.
The only Cougar victory came at No. 3 singles, when senior Claire Butler defeated Megan Steel, also a senior, 6-2, 6-2.
Other match results are as follows:
No. 1 singles – Lindagh McDonaugh (B) defeated Ali Moreland (VW) 6-2, 6-2.
No. 2 singles – Tiffany Short (B) defeated Sydney Dull (VW) 4-6, 6-0, 6-3.
No. 1 doubles – Jessica Whtler/Mikayla Borland (B) defeated Hannah Stemen/Sydney Felger (VW) 6-0, 6-0.
No. 2 doubles – Trista Savage/Kendra Wheeler (B) defeated Tabatha Tennie/Kali Agler (VW) 6-2, 6-4.
With the win, Bryan is now 9-0 on the year, while the Cougars fall to 2-4 on the season.
Bryan’s Liz Hoene and Liz Huard also won a junior varsity match over Tennie and Liz Lassiter of Van Wert, 6-0.
