Cougar v-ball team edged by O-G

OTTAWA — The Van Wert Cougar volleyball team saw action on Friday as they traveled to Ottawa-Glandorf to take on the Lady Titans. The Cougars played hard, but couldn’t put O-G away, losing in three games by scores of 25-27, 23-25 and 20-25.
The varsity is now 4-1 on the year.
Varsity stats leaders are as follows:
Serving — Riley Jones, 16/16 with 2 aces; Amanda Coplin, 14/15
Hitting — Coplin, 9 kills; Alexa Dunlap and Taylor Doidge, 7 kills each.
Defensive digs — Dunlap, 18 digs; Coplin, 14 digs.
Setting — Coplin, 14 assists; Jones, 11 assists.
The Van Wert junior varsity team won over the Titans in three games, 21-25, 25-9 and 25–23. The JV team is now 3-1 on the year.
The freshman team also defeated O-G, in two games, by scores of 25-19 and 25-19.
The Cougars are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Ottoville for a non-conference match against the Big Green.
