Knight volleyball team wins tri-match

STRYKER — The Crestview Lady Knights volleyball team traveled to Stryker to compete in a tri-match against the host team and Archbold and came away with wins against both schools.

The Knights varsity team defeated Stryker in two games, 25-19 and 25-19, and also won over Archbold in three games, 25-19, 22-25 and 25-13.

With the victories, Crestview is now 2-1 on the year overall.

The Knight junior varsity team also defeated both Stryker and Archbold, downing Stryker in two and the Blue Streaks in three games.

Stats leaders for the varsity team are as follows:

Stryker leaders

Serving – Grace Callow, 9/10 with an ace; Kirstin Hicks, 8/9 with an ace.

Hitting – Courtney Trigg, 9 kills; Haley Helm and Callow, 5 kills each; Hicks, 4 kills; and Mackenzie Riggenbach, 2 kills.

Setting – Riggenbach, 16 assists.

Blocking – Trigg led the attack at the net.

Digs – Hicks, 9 digs; and Helm and Tianna Rager, 7 digs each.

Serve receive – Rager led the Knights.

Archbold leaders

Serving – Helm, 18/18 with 3 aces; Mallory Bowen, 10/11 with 2 aces; Rager, 11/12 with one ace; and Hicks, 8/8 with one ace.

Hitting – Trigg, 10 kills; Helm, 7 kills; Hicks, 6 kills; Callow and Megan Hartman, 3 kills each.

Setting – Riggenbach, 19 assists.

Digs – Rager, 14; Helm, 13; and Bowen and Riggenbach, 8 each.

Serve receive – Led by Rager, Helm and Bowen.

Crestview will be back in action on Thursday for an away match against non-conference foe Wayne Trace.
