Van Wert Civic Theatre news

Van Wert Civic Theatre proudly announces its 2013-2014 season, as well as the opening of its new subscription drive.

The season begins with the classic Little Women, a musical version of the March sisters. This beautifully written piece captures the tenderness and courage of Louisa May Alcott’s timeless story of family, friendship and mid-19th century American life.

January brings the coming-of-age parable Avenue Q. Its characters lament that, as children, they were assured that they were “special”, only to discover as adults in the real world their options are limited.

Stephen King fans are in for a treat as Misery comes to the VWCT stage in March. Based on his best selling novel, the show follows the main character, Paul Sheldon, who has the misfortune of finding himself in the home of schizophrenic Annie, who insists he rewrite his latest novel to stay alive.

The season closes in May with the comedic Insane with Power. A big city journalist stumbles upon a hospital populated with a unique group of quirky inmates who imagine they are crime fighting superheroes!
