VW girls’ beat Bath in WBL tennis

LIMA — The Van Wert girls’ tennis team traveled to Bath and defeated the Lady Wildcats 4-1 in a Western Buckeye League match played Thursday.
All three singles players were victorious, as was the Lady Cougars’ No. 1 doubles team. Match scores are as follows:
No. 1 singles – Ali Moreland (VW) defeated Dana Wieging (B) 6-2, 6-4.
No. 2 singles – Sydney Dull (VW) defeated Madison Pauff (B) 6-4, 6-4.
No. 3 singles – Claire Butler (VW) defeated Jordan Haller (B) 6-1, 6-0.
No. 1 doubles – Hannah Stemen/Sydney Felger (VW) defeated Katia Hardman/Maddie Helmig (B) 6-3, 7-5.
No. 2 doubles – Tabatha Tennie/Kali Agler (VW) lost to Grayce Smith/Danielle Caster (B) 6-4, 6-2.
With the win, Van Wert is now 5-4 overall and 5-1 in the WBL, while the Lady Wildcats fall to 3-7 overall and 1-5 in league play.
