CONVOY — The Crestview Lady Knights hosted the Fort Jennings Lady Musketeers on Thursday evening in Convoy and were defeated 3-1.

The Lady Knights jumped out to a an early lead when senior Brooke Bowen hit a shot at the 37:04 mark from the right side that slid through the Fort Jennings goalkeeper’s hands. The Crestview defense then held strong until the 21:25 mark, when Jennings hit a high shot into the corner to tie the game at 1-1.

The Lady Musketeers then scored again before halftime to take a 2-1 lead, and the scored again in the second half to make the final score 3-1.

Crestview Head Coach Melissa Mefferd was pleased overall with her team’s play. “We played much more aggressive tonight and I was very happy with our effort,” she said.

Crestview goalkeeper Alyssa Walter had four saves on the night.

Crestview moves to 1-5-1 overall and 1-0-1 in Northwest Conference. The Lady Knights will travel to Lima Senior High School for an 11 a.m. game on Saturday.
