Rotary announces annual auction date

The Van Wert Rotary Club is excited to announce this year’s annual Rotary Auction information.

This year’s auction will be held Saturday, October 12, at Willow Bend Country Club. Cocktail hour will begin at 5:30 p.m., with dinner served at 6 that evening. The live auction will begin at 7 p.m.

The purpose of the annual auction is to raise funds for community projects in the Van Wert area. Previous projects include Rotary Park at the Van Wert reservoirs, the concession stand in Fountain Park, and new light poles at Fountain Park, to name a few. Proceeds from the auction can range from $20,000-$30,000.

Projects are submitted by community organizations and then voted on by Rotarians. This year, Rotary will be supporting the Van Wert County Junior Fair Rabbit Barn improvements, along with support to purchase a new vehicle for the Van Wert County Council on Aging. A portion of the auction proceeds will also help support the Rotary Scholarship Fund.
