October photo show to open soon
By Hope Wallace

The number of submissions that were taken for the 36th Annual Photography Exhibit this past weekend have surpassed several years back. People from all over the region brought stunning and creative work to enter this juried exhibit. The quality of the work is astounding and we couldn’t be more proud to represent the photographers in our region.
Not only do we wish to thank those of you who submitted work, we would like to thank all of the volunteers who helped with the check-in process. Here is a shout out to Wassenberg Camera Club president, William Hawkins, Secretary, Rex Dolby, Treasurer Karl Gribler and Nancy Gribler, club members Virginia Thatcher, Chris Wilson and Larry Dickerhoof. Also helping out were Wassenberg office manager, Matthew Temple, Weston Thompson and his future brother-in-law, Abdel Alaani who was visiting all the way from Boston. We can’t begin to offer an active art program without volunteers like you so thank you for all your contributions.
The photographs will be juried in the coming weeks and the exhibit will open on October 5, at 7 p.m. Awards will be presented at 8 p.m. All of our opening receptions are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Though it will still be a while, I am happy to say we are finally beginning our transition to the armory in earnest. Soon, in order for our alarm systems to work properly, our phone line will be transferring to the service there. If you miss either Matt or me, please leave a message and we will get with you as soon as possible. You can also reach us at the website and email addresses below. Again we thank everyone for their patience during our upheaval.
