Photo exhibit judging goes well

By Hope Wallace

A thank you goes out to the many volunteers who helped out the recent judging of the 36th Annual Wassenberg Art Center Photography exhibit. Jurors Elmer Denman photography professor from from IPFW and Brad Olson, professor of photography OSU Lima were impressed at the quality level of submitted works. Van Wert may be a small community but our art and photography is of a quality seen in larger cities. The jurors also complimented the art center on their efficient jurying procedures. Notifications of accepted works have gone out in the mail and all who entered the exhibit should know how their entries fared shortly. The exhibit will open on October 5, at 7 p.m. Awards will be presented at 8 p.m. All of our opening receptions are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served and we hope to see you there. This exhibit will be on view through October 27 and many photographs are available for sale, framed and ready to go.

Shiny new like-new entrance doors have appeared at the armory! The refinished and winter-proofed doors have come back from the door hospital and they look great. Larry McClure of Delphos delivered the 300+ pound doors and is in the process of installing them. The remaining three steel doors will be next.
