Label Shopper opens Van Wert store

The Van Wert Area Chamber of Commerce helped a new store, Label Shopper, cut the ribbon on its business, which is located in the old Sears store on South Shannon Street. The Van Wert store, the 85th for the New York City-based company, offers discount “famous label” clothing for men and in various sizes, including juniors and misses, for women.

The company also has other stores in Ohio, with Bellefontaine and Tiffin being the closest to Van Wert.

Manager Kari Gall stressed that Label Shopper is not a thrift store. “There are no used clothes; it is all warehouse clothing, which includes a lot of famous maker brands,” she said. “When their warehouses are packed too full, they shop their goods off to other companies to sell it for them, and we sell it for a discounted price.”

The store is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday; 10-6 on Saturday and noon-5 p.m. on Sundays. Items can also be viewed online at www.labelshopper.com.
