Appellate court judges in VW next week

The Ohio Third District Court of Appeals will travel to the Van Wert County Courthouse this coming Tuesday, October 1, to hold oral arguments in two appeals — one civil and one criminal.  The Third District Court of Appeals, based in Lima, handles appellate cases filed in 17 northwest and west central Ohio counties.

Attending the oral arguments will be students from Crestview High School, Lincolnview High School, Van Wert High School, and Wayne Trace High School.  At the conclusion of oral arguments, the students will also have the opportunity to participate in a question-and-answer session with the judges.

A three-member panel of judges will travel to Van Wert County for the special court session. Current Court of Appeals judges are Vernon L. Preston, Richard M. Rogers, Stephen R. Shaw, and John R. Willamowski.

The Van Wert County Bar Association will also be hosting a luncheon for the Court of Appeals judges when they visit on Tuesday.
