Ruby M. Giessler
Ruby M. Giessler, 81, of Van Wert, died at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born September 22, 1932, in Hoaglin Township, Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Thurman A. and Leah (Roop) Thatcher.
Ruby retired from Teleflex Corporation in 1999 after 23 years of service. She attended Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert.
She was a 1951 graduate of Van Wert High School. She loved to play cards and Bingo and attend auctions. Most importantly, she was a loving mother, grandmother and, just recently, a great-grandmother, as well as a friend to many. She will be truly missed.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan (Don) Mosier of Convoy and Shelly M. (Shawn) Dunno of Van Wert; four grandchildren, Jason (Katie) Mosier of Van Wert, Megan Mosier of Kettering and Zen and Logan Collins of Van Wert; and a great-grandchild, Lane Mosier.
Four brothers, Donald Wayne, Richard, Garry and Larry Thatcher; and a sister, Pauline Thatcher, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 5, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Friday, October 4, and an hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials: Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center or Gideons International.
