Jeffrey Scott Evans
Jeffrey Scott Evans, 37, of Middle Point, died at 2:38 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2013, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

He was born November 12, 1975, in Van Wert, the son of James Evans, who survives in Middle Point, and Judy (Rogers) Dotson, who survives in Fort Jennings. On February 14, 2008, he married Bethanie (Gootee) Evans, who survives in Middle Point.
Jeff farmed with his father and also worked at Osting Farm Drainage in Van Wert. He was a member of Middle Point United Methodist Church and a 1994 graduate of Lincolnview High School. He loved farming with his dad, hunting, snowmobiling, and spending time at the lake with his family.
Other survivors include his stepmother, Lisa Evans of Middle Point; his stepfather, Brad Dotson of Fort Jennings; three children, Gabe, Brayden and Peyton Evans, all at home; a stepdaughter, Destiny Coil, also at home; one sister, Jennifer (Ben) Byrne of Van Wert; three stepsisters, Jennifer and Katlynn Dotson, both of Van Wert, and Mallory Bonifas of Naples, Fla.; two stepbrothers, Jamie (Stacie) Dotson of Van Wert and Josh (Afton) Dotson of Dayton; four nieces, Carley Springer, Devann Springer, Rylee Byrne and Brooklyn Byrne, all of Middle Point; his maternal grandmother, Phyllis Rogers of Van Wert; his paternal grandmother, Betty Evans of Van Wert; and his father- and mother-in-law, Randy and Natalie Sevitz of Van Wert.
His maternal grandfather, Gordon Rogers; his paternal grandfather, Lloyd Evans; maternal great-grandparents, Espy and Mary Rogers and Leonard and Maye Cryer; and his paternal great-grandparents, Austin and Alice Miller and George and Adah Evans, all preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.
Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, at the funeral home.
