Margaret R. Pohlman

Margaret R. Pohlman, 88, of Delphos, died at 11:28 a.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at her residence.

She was born January 7, 1925, in Delphos, the daughter of the late Aloysius and Laura (Laudick) Kaverman. On April 7, 1948, she married Paul B. “Bounce” Pohlman, who survives in Delphos.

Mrs. Pohlman was a homemaker and a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos. She was a 1943 graduate of Delphos St. John’s High School. She loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her husband, survivors include three sons, Michael (Helen) Pohlman of Spencerville and Charles (Janice) Pohlman and Paul A. (Donna) Pohlman, both of Delphos; three daughters, Susan (Steve) Sherburne and Mary Pohlman, both of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Lois (Jim) Hoersten of Ottoville; two brothers, Eugene Kaverman of Ottoville and Louise (Martha) Kaverman of Delphos; four sisters, Alice (Norm) Knippen and Alene Klausing, both of Delphos, Dorothy Heitz of Wapakoneta, and Janet (Tom) Hiett of Spencerville; a brother-in-law, Ed Utrup; four sisters-in-law, LaDonna Peterson and Alice, Ruth and Dolly Pohlman; 23 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Two sisters, Betty Beckman and Ruth Utrup, also preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, October 11, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Dave Reinhart officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Delphos.

Calling hours are from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 10, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, with a parish wake will be held at 7:30 Thursday evening.

Preferred memorials: St. John’s Parish Foundation or The Right to Life Society of Lima and Allen County.
