Shirley J. Laipply

Shirley J. Laipply, 78, of Van Wert, died at 12:59 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

She was born September 8, 1935, in Convoy, the daughter of the late Cletus and Berniece (Hilton) Frane. On June 23, 1961, she married Robert Laipply, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include two sons, Bob Laipply of Spring Arbor, Mich., and Steve Laipply of Dallas, Texas; a daughter, Julie (Mike) Garke of Burkettsville; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 11, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, with Fathers Stanley Szybka and Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.

Calling hours are from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, October 10, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert.
