WBESC board OKs personnel actions

Western Buckeye ESC information

PAULDING — The Western Buckeye Educational Service Center Governing Board took care of some personnel items during a brief October meeting held this week in the Paulding ESC office.

Superintendent Brian Gerber also updated board members on the Affordable Care Act, as well as ESC activities and the pending personnel items, while Treasurer Gary Ginter reviewed the current financial report, investments and monthly expenditures.

Personnel action taken by the board includes the following:

  • Approved a one-year part-time limited contract to Jill Weirrick as a paraprofessional at Payne Elementary School, effective September 30.
  • Approved a one-year part-time COTA services contract for Kristina Figgins for the 2013-2014 school year, effective September 9.
  • Increased work days for Rebecca Mayer and Michelle Davis (Help Me Grow) From 169 to 205 for the current school year, due to an increase in available Help Me Grow funding.
  • Accepted the resignation, due to retirement, of Pam Zartman, a paraprofessional at Antwerp Local Schools, and thanked her for her years of service to Western Buckeye ESC.
  • Employed Laura Boesch as a one-on-one aide at Antwerp for two students, effective October 14.

The next meeting of the Western Buckeye ESC governing board will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, at the Van Wert ESC office.
