Knights working hard
By Kirstin Hicks
Crestview students are working hard to raise money for the Young family. Ever since the first day of school the mass media class and the junior senior English class have been planning the Craig Young Memorial Walk fundraising event. The purpose of this event is to raise money for senior Jon Young and his family. Not only have these two classes been working on the memorial walk fundraiser but the student council just recently had a car wash fundraiser of their own.
These students have been working hard not only on the fundraiser but they have been organizing all of it on top of having to do homework and projects too.
Senior Kali Coleman, one of Jon’s classmates, said, “It is a lot of work but it is for a good cause but it is something that I want to do and be a part of.”
Not only are the students that are organizing working hard but so it the whole student body. Many of the students are participating in the Memorial Walk and have bought the t-shirts designed by students. They are all working so hard for the Young family who is in need.
“I think it is really nice that the students are getting involved and trying to help out a friend in the wake of a tragedy. The Young family is a very nice family and this is a great event to help them out,” said Kennis Mercer, a junior at Crestview. “I am going to make sure to attend the walk to help out the family.”
The two classes have organized the walk that has been taking place during the students’ lunch periods. In addition to the high school walk, the elementary students will be holding their own walk tomorrow during recess.
