Knight v-ball team wins tourney match

OTTOVILLE — The Crestview Lady Knight volleyball team began its sectional tournament run with a straight-set victory over the Continental Lady Pirates. Scores were 25-2, 25-8 and 25-9.

With the win, Crestview is now 16-7 overall and will be play again on Saturday in the sectional championship match against the winner of Wayne Trace and Kalida. That match will begin at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Leading the Knights in the match were the following:

Serving – Haley Helm, 38/38 with 5 aces; Tiannna Rager, 16/16 with 1 ace; Megan Hartman, 9/9 with 3 aces; Kirstin Hicks, 8/8 with 2 aces; Mackenzie Riggenbach, 6/6; Mallory Bowen, 11/11; and Courtney Trigg, 5/5.

Hitting – Trigg, 9 kills; Hicks, 7 kills; and Hartman and Helm, 3 kills apiece.

Setting – Riggenbach, 16 assists.

Digs – Rager, 13 digs.
