Alonzo Brummette
Alonzo Brummette, 87, of Mendon, died Sunday, October 20, 2013, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
He was born February 22, 1926, in Claiborne County, Tenn., the son of the late John and Maggie (Berry) Brummette. On May 31, 1947, he married Linda (Evans) Brummette, who preceded him in death on February 12, 2008.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth (Camilla) Brummette of Ohio City and Paul (Jodi) Brummette of Van Wert; four daughters, Vicki Roberts of Ohio City, Judy (Dave) Highley of St. Marys, Mary (Mark) Myers of Fort Jennings and Pauline (Kenneth Richardson) Price of Delaware; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a brother, Milton (Fannie) Brummitt of Ten Mile, Tenn.; one sister, Arzetta DeWine of Georgia; and his beloved dog, Skamper.
A brother, Harley Brummitt; two sisters, Dorothy Cooper and Viola Patton; two grandsons, Darrell Brummette and Mitchel McGough; and a son-in-law, James B. Price, also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 24, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, with Pastor Randy Christian officiating. Burial will be in Mercer Memory Gardens in Celina, with military rites performed.
Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, and an hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials: Shriners Hospital for Children in Chicago.
