Lancer boys 2nd at district CC meet

Lincolnview cross country information

OTTAWA — The Lancer cross country teams traveled to Ottawa on Saturday to compete in the Division III District Tournament.  The boys’ team took home the district runner-up trophy, finishing just four points behind first place Minster.

The Lancers had two All-District finishers in Bayley Tow and Alex Rodriguez. Tow finished the race in third place overall and Rodriguez placed ninth. Rounding out the scoring for the Lancers was Ben Bilimek (17th), Travis Lippi (18th), Trevor Neate (19th), Colton Snyder (22nd), and Tracey West (28th).

“Today was one of our best team races of the season.  We looked both in control and aggressive the entire race and it was obvious that they were focused on qualifying for the regional meet,” said Lincolnview Coach Matt Langdon. “It was a bonus that we were able to place so high and nearly knock off a very talented Minster team.”

“This now allows us to take a shot at qualifying for the state meet and, going into the season, that is all you hope for,” Coach Langdon said. “I like the way we are racing right now and I think this coming weekend in Tiffin we will run our best race yet.

The girls team placed ninth overall. Individually, Anna Gorman placed 33rd, Abbie Enyart 35th, Claira Rhoades 58th, Mikinzie Dull 63rd, and Ryanne Ducheney 65th.
