DELPHOS — The Museum of Postal History in Delphos will open its doors to the public and invited guests at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 3, for an Art Auction with a local twist.
For several hours, auction-goers will be served complimentary hors d’oeuvres and wine while they preview artistic works of the great masters and some of the most talented local artists. This should be a wonderfully fun experience, with door prizes, a 50/50 drawing, and a raffle for a free weeklong vacation. Travel Advantage Network has thousands of condominiums in resort areas across the country, Mexico and the Caribbean. The person holding the winning raffle ticket will have the opportunity to choose when and where they would like to travel for the use of the condo.
There will also be a number of door prizes, courtesy of local businesses and supporters, including red and white beverages, salon certificates, and useful merchandise.
Tickets are available at the museum daily by calling 419.303.5482 or by sending one’s name and address, along with check for $10 per person, to: MPH, P.O. Box 174, Delphos, OH 45833-0174. There will be a limited number of tickets available at the door. As a bonus for the many people who purchased memberships this past year, admission is free.
Marlin Art of Deer Park, N.Y., has been a premier art dealer and auction house for several decades. The company conducts a very professional auction and has some traditional and unique pieces to offer for sale. Auction-goers may find works by Picasso, Chagall, Levi, Neiman, Norman Rockwell, Peter Max, and Ansel Adams, to name just a few.
Those who want to support the museum by purchasing artworks, but can’t attend the art auction, check out www.marlinart.com using the fundraising code 64062 and the password of “Club”. Online sales will reap a 20 percent commission for the museum.
