William H. Scott

William H. Scott, 88, of Van Wert, died at 7:40 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2013, at Van Wert Manor.

He was born January 30, 1925, in Middle Point, the son of the late Ernest and Laura (Jones) Scott. On May 28, 1949, he married Doris (Smith) Scott, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include three children, Judy (David) Mead of Columbus, Susie (Harvey) Stoller of Van Wert and Nancy Garibay of Maumee; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Two brothers, John and Paul Scott; and two sisters, Eva Williman and Ruby Brenneman, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 1, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Gus Christo-Baker officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 31, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: First United Methodist Church in Van Wert or the Lions Club International Eye Bank.
