Grandstaff earns All-Ohio CC honors

HEBRON — It was a disappointing day for most local runners who competed in the State Cross Country Meet at Hebron on Saturday.

Crestview’s Mycah Grandstaff was the exception, as he finished 15th in the Division III race to earn All-Ohio honors in a time of 16:27.29.

The Van Wert boys’ cross country team finished highest of local squads with a 10th place finish in the Division II boys’ race.

Connor Holliday was the Cougars’ top runner with a 32nd-place finish in a time of 16:53.89. Connor Shaffer finished in 46th place in 17:02.75, Daniel Perry was 54th in 17:07.05, Cade Fleming was 93rd in 17:34.43, Jordan Butler 104th in 17:40.81, Nick Keber was 107th in 17:45.49 and Ryan Rice was 143rd in a time of 19:06.36.

The Lincolnview Lancer boys were 12th in the Division III race, led by Alex Rodriguez’ 44th-place finish in a time of 17:01.57. Bayley Tow finished 67th in 17:21.74, Ben Bilimek was 81st in 17:38.95, Travis Lippi was 112th in 18:02.61, Colton Snyder finished 124th in 18:18.5, Trevor Neate was 131st in 18:43.7 and Tracey West was 135th in 19:00.8.

The Lady Cougars completed the race in 16 place, led by Amanda Clay’s 68th-place finished in a time of 20:10.9. Chloee Gamble was 88th in 20:28.8, Schealissa Williams was 104th in 20:56.6, Natalie Riethman 120th in 21:29.2, Andi Foster 122nd in 21:31.1, Megan Barnhart 128th in 21:48.4 and Whitney Meyers 139th in 23:48.1 (click here for more state cross country meet photos)
