Several issues on general election ballot

DAVE MOSIER/independent editor

In addition to the bond issue for a proposed Van Wert Aquatics Center, a number of other issues are on the November general election ballot.

Two non-money issues related to Van Wert City Council are seeking the approval of city voters. The issues propose that terms of members of City Council and Council president be lengthened to four years, from the current two years. City officials cite the time needed to become a knowledgeable member of Council as a reason for the increase, and note similar successful issues in Delphos and other area communities.
