‘Salute to Small Business’ nominees listed

The finalists have been announced, the date set and the Van Wert Area Chamber of Commerce is ready to recognize and honor small businesses in the Van Wert community with its Salute to Small Business Luncheon and Awards Program Friday, November 15, from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. at Willow Bend Country Club in Van Wert.

Luncheon registration is now open and the community is invited to attend as the Chamber honors outstanding businesses in seven categories of independent entrepreneurial spirit that play a vital role in the Van Wert community and economy. To be nominated is reward in itself, while a nomination also serves as a great tribute to a company’s leadership and employees.
One winner will be announced from among the following nominees in each of the seven categories and presented with an award plaque, as well as a proclamation from the offices of the Ohio governor and treasurer.
Categories and nominees are as follows:
- Spirit of Entrepreneurship – Miller Precision Manufacturing Industries, Dark Horse Productions, CNT Computers and Straley Realty.
- Agriculture enterprise – P&L Fertilizer and Pond Seed.
- Charitable non-profit – The Salvation Army, Van Wert County Council on Aging and Wetzel Motorcycle Club.
- Generations – Collins Fine Foods and Brickner Funeral Home.
- Downtown champion – Fettig’s Flowers and F&S Floor Covering
- Woman-owned business – DeShia, Everybodies Therapeutic Massage and Dr. Nicole Nygren.
- Export-import excellence – Baker Built Products, Cool Machines and Life Star Rescue.
