Grace B. (Downs) Foy

Grace B. (Downs) Foy, 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born July 20, 1922, in Jasonville, Ind., to the late Adolphus and Ruth (Robertson) Downs. On March 9, 1942, she married Warren L. Foy Sr., who preceded her in death in 1981.

Mrs. Foy lived in Terre Haute, Ind., most of her life, attending Bible Center Church and Union Christian Church. For the last seven years, she has lived in Van Wert, attending First United Methodist Church.

Grace is survived by three children, Warren L. (Rhea) Foy of Van Wert, David E. (Patsy) Foy of Deerfield Beach, Fla., and Cathy A. Foy Kirk of Indianapolis, Ind.; a sister, Helen (Don) Binninger of Bradenton, Fla. Grace is also survived by seven grandchildren, David L. Foy Jr. of Terre Haute, Alicia (Dave) Shotwell of Fairfield, Brittany L. (Dave Weaver) Pagels of Sanford, Fla., Melody (Eric) McCracken of Van Wert, Richard W. Foy of Terre Haute, Austin L. (Maia) Kirk and Mackenzie E. Kirk, both of Indianapolis; two stepgrandchildren, Troy (Kim) Wheaton and Tobi (James) Aycock, both of Pompano Beach, Fla. In addition, Grace is survived by 13 great-grandchildren, Tyler and Kayla Foy, Tyler and Jordan Shotwell, Brieanne, Bailey and Bryce Pagels, Ryan, Jalen, Damon and Griffin McCracken, and Haylee and Cooper Foy; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Zoe and Wyatt Aycock and Erin Wheaton; and many nieces and nephews.

Two brothers, Wayne and Ershel Downs; and three sisters, Martha Peterson, Marie Pefley and Katherine Storey, also preceded her in death.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in West Terre Haute, Ind.
