Ricky Wayne Ellinger

Ricky Wayne “Rick” Ellinger, 61, of rural Van Wert, died at 10:51 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born August 16, 1952, in Van Wert, the son of the late John William and Margaret Ruth (Davis) Ellinger. On October 15, 1983, he married Sue Ann (Hurless) Ellinger, who survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Josh (Ashlee) Ellinger and Tristan Ellinger, both of Cincinnati; a daughter, Rikki Sue Ellinger of Akron; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A sister, Janet Ann Knapke, also preceded him in death.

A celebration of life will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 18, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Kevin Wilcox officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.

Calling hours are from 1-6 p.m. Sunday, November 17, at after 10 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
