Joan L. Anderson

Joan L. Anderson, 87, of Van Wert, died at 9:27 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2013, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born July 12, 1926, in Nappanee, Ind., the daughter of the late Donald Forest and Edith M. (Reed) Tobias.

Survivors include three children, Nancy J. Dias of Van Wert, Donald E. Anderson of Cornelius, N.C., and Deborah Ann (Bill) Larimore of Lima; a sister, Marilyn (Don) Donley of Van Wert; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Carlyle Tobias and a brother in infancy; and two sisters, her twin, June Wable and another sister in infancy, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Steve Savage officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 5-7 p.m. Monday, November 25, and an hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center or Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
