VW Marlins get win over Galion YMCA

GALION — On November 23, seven of the YMCA Van Wert Marlins made the trip to Galion for a dual meet at the local YMCA.

The Marlins, though small in number, still turned in a dominant performance. Every swimmer scored and placed in the top four in every one of their individual event, while five swimmers won all their events. They include Emma Pollock (5), Katie McVaigh (5), Jayden Welker (4), and Sam and Eric Easley, with five each.

The Marlins’ next action will be at home on Saturday, December 7.

9-10 Girls: Emma Pollock – 1^st 200 Free, 100 IM, 50 Free, 50 Fly and 50 Breast.

9-10 Boys: Jayden Welker – 1^st 50 Free, 50 Back, 100 Free and 50 Breast. Kaden Woolbright – 1^st 200 Free, 2^nd 50 Free, 50 Back and 100 Free.

11-12 Girls: Risa Pollock – 1^st 50 Breast; 2^nd 200 Free, and 100 IM; 3rd 100 Free; 4th 50 Fly. Katie McVaigh  – 1^st in 100 IM, 50 Free, 50 Fly, 50 Back and 100 Free.

13-14 Boys: Sam Easley – 1^st 200 Free, 50 Free, 100 Fly, 100 Free and 100 Back.

15 & Over Boys: Eric Easley – 1^st 50 Free, 100 Back, 100 Fly, 100 Free and 100 Breast.
