Ruth E. Mohr

Ruth E. Mohr, 94, of Scott, died Saturday, December 14, 2013, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

She was born August 20, 1919, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Elmer and Lydia (Keith) Frey. On October 1, 1939, she married Walter S. Mohr, who preceded her in death on June 21, 1977.

She was a member of Country Chapel United Methodist Church in Haviland and was employed as an LPN by the former Dallas Lamb Foundation Home in Payne, as well as Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

Survivors include four daughters, Carol (Carl) Wyatt of Payne, Nancy (Robert) Kupfersmith of Johnson City, N.Y., Karen Maxine Keipper of Scott and Patricia (Richard) Mohr-Kelly of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two sons, Rudy (Diane) Mohr of Paulding and James Mohr of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

An infant son, Larry Dean Mohr; two brothers, Garold and Harold Frey; and a sister, Saralene Ashton, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 18, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding, with Pastor Ron Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Mohr Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.

Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Scott EMS or Country Chapel United Methodist Church.
