Marlins lose to Wapak, Putnam County

WAPAKONETA — On December 7, the Van Wert YMCA Marlins traveled to Wapakoneta to swim in a tri-meet against the Wapak YMCA and Putnam County YMCA.

Van Wert lost to both teams. In 9-10 girls, Emma Pollock took first in the 50-yard butterfly and 50-hard freestyle, while teammate Jamie Burenga secured a first in the 100-yard individual medley, 100 freestyle and 50 backstroke.

Also with first place finishes were: Ian Rex (1), Risa Pollock (3), and Dylan Neate (1).

The Marlins’ December 14 home meet against Wapakoneta was cancelled due to the weather and the team’s next action will be at home on January 4, 2014.
