Roger L. Felger Sr.

Roger L. Felger Sr., 76, of Van Wert, died at 2:40 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2013, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born January 27, 1937, in Van Wert, the son of the late Emmett L. and La Vera Fay (Adams) Felger.

Survivors include eight children, Nita (Roger) Finger, Connie (Dick) Elder and Alice (Sam) Laurent, all of Van Wert, Katherine (Le Roy) Samra of Marco Island, Fla., Angie (Steve) Dietrich of Rockford, Rose (Mike) Elston of Middle Point, Cynthia (Pablo) Rivera of Convoy and Roger (Julie) Felger Jr. of Columbus; a brother, Danny Felger of Van Wert; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.

Six brothers, Junior Lee “George,” Carrol, Kenneth Eugene, Milo, Richard and Ralph Felger; two sisters, Mary Amweg and Helen Drocy; and a stepgreat-grandchild, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 26, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will in Taylor Cemetery in rural Van Wert County, where graveside military honors will be performed by the combined honors units of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert.
