VW boy bowlers split match, girls lose

VW boys’ and girls’ bowling

UNION CITY — The Cougar boy and girl bowlers both had matches over the weekend. The Van Wert boys split a double-header at Woodcrest Lanes in Union City, defeating New Bremen in the first match and losing to St. Marys in the second.

The Cougars took a commanding lead after the two individual games, leading by a score of 1,584 to 1,497. Individual scores were as follows:

Van Wert – Joey Kinner, 182, 183; Andrew Price, 118; Tyler Ruger, 149, 153; Jacob Zosh, 146, 156; Jacob Blackmore, 140; Gabe Rollins, 193; and Colton Deschner, 169.

New Bremen – Cody Springer, 136, 109; Tyler Hindall, 143, 122; Jake Davidson, 146, 117; Jacob Onfell, 178, 181; Austin Webb, 177, 188.

Van Wert sealed the deal after two baker games, rolling a 168 and 136 to New Bremen’s 137, and 166,  bringing the final score to 1,888 for Van Wert and 1,800 for New Bremen.

St. Marys bowlers were red hot in defeating the Cougars 2,003-1,872. Individual scores are as follows:

Van Wert – Joey Kinner, 165, 148; Jason Zosh, 190, 179; Colton Deschner, 157, 177; Gabe Rollins, 139; Jacob Blackmore, 145, 150; and Tyler Ruger, 144.

St. Marys – Hunter Murphy, 203, 142; Alex Noel, 95, 169; Austin Cook, 224, 155; Collen Vandiva, 231, 155; and Travis Bonifas, 213, 188.

The Van Wert girls lost to Mississinawa Valley by a score of 1,967-1,667. Individual scores were as follows:

Van Wert – Chelsea Boroff, 113, 118; Kiara Lamb, 107, 106; Kaitlin Ireland, 94; Dayna Gray, 135, 93; Madison Wannemacher, 138, 109; and Sarah Linser, 121.

Mississinawa Valley – Allison James, 177, 120; Tiffany Westfall, 141, 117; Spencer Warren, 138, 106; Quincy Warren, 135, 165; and Cydney Adams, 118.

Van Wert had baker games of 156, 111, 109, 73, and 84, while Mississinawa Valley’s baker game scores were 136, 141, 126, 119 and 112.
