The Crestview Lady Knights have only one loss on the season, a 51-49 loss to Van Wert in the McDonald’s Tip-Off Tournament back in November. The Knights avenged that loss Monday night as they defeated the Lady Cougars 51-35 in a non-conference game played at home.

With the win, Crestview is now 12-1, while the Cougars fall to 12-3 on the season.
While the two teams played mostly even during the middle two quarters, the first and last quarter were all Crestview as the Knights outscored Van Wert 33-17 in those two periods.
Crestview made 18 of 38 attempts from the field (47 percent), while holding the Cougars to 23 percent shooting overall (10 of 43). The Knights hit 3 of 4 three-point attempts, while Van Wert could only make 2 of 21 from behind the arc.
Crestview was 12 of 16 at the free-throw line (75 percent), while the Cougars made 13 of 21 (61 percent) from the line.
The Lady Knights also dominated on the boards, bringing down 34 rebounds to 19 for Van Wert. The Cougars had fewer turnovers, though, losing the ball 13 times to 19 times for Crestview.
The Knights were led by Lindsey Motycka’s 20 points, while Kennis Mercer added 10 points for Crestview. Erin Morrow was the only Cougar in doubles figures, with 14 points on the night.
The Knights also won the junior varsity game, 35-28, to move to 9-4 on the year.
