Richard Earl Guthrie

Richard Earl “Dick” Guthrie, 77, of Van Wert and formerly of McMurray, Pa., died at 6:27 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born January 11, 1937, in Washington, Pa., the son of the late Francis Earl and Evelyn Betty (Martin) Guthrie. On August 15, 1959, he married Sarah J. (Manfredi) Guthrie, who preceded him in death on July 2, 2011. On October 5, 2013, he married Mary (Mathew) Johns-Guthrie, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include a son, Steven (Julie) Guthrie of Pegram, Tenn.; one daughter, Shari (Walter) McRae of Glen Allen, Va.; two sisters, Joyce Guthrie and Crystal Guthrie, both of Dunedin, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, January 27, at Upper St. Clair Alliance Church in Pittsburgh, Pa. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Gardens Cemetery in McMurray, Pa.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, January 26, at Beinhauer Family Funeral Home in McMurray, Pa., and an hour prior to services Monday at the church.
