Putt Putt golf fundraiser this weekend

Just a reminder that Van Wert’s only traveling indoor charity golf tournament — Putt Around Van Wert — is being held this Saturday, February 1.

Play will begin and end at Fricker’s on Fox Road. The cost is $80 per team of four players. Those who haven’t already signed up may do so at Fricker’s prior to beginning play on the day of the event.

Organizers estimate the course can be completed in as little as 2-3 hours, but for more leisurely play, the course will be open between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. and can be played in any order. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams.

Participating locations include Kennedy-Kuhn, StateWide Ford, Van Wert Bedrooms, Lee Kinstle GM Sales & Service, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, Sears, Elks Lodge 1197, Black Swamp Bistro, and Fricker’s.

Proceeds from the event will stay local and are earmarked to benefit youth services.
