Lady Knights get win over Spencerville

CONVOY — The Crestview girls’ basketball team did its part to set up a showdown of Northwest Conference unbeatens next Thursday at Allen East by defeating Spencerville 54-42.

Despite a slow start, the Lady Knights got out to a six-point lead at the half and extended that lead to as much as 16 in the second half en route to the victory.

Crestview was led by sophomore center Emily Bauer, who had 19 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 blocks. Lindsey Motycka also poured in 18 points and grabbed 5 boards.

With the win, Crestview moves to 15-1 overall and 6-0 in the NWC. The Lady Knights will be in action next Tuesday in non-league play at Celina at 6 p.m. when they take the floor for a double-header before the varsity boys’ contest.

Crestview’s junior varsity team was also victorious 42-24. Brady Guest scored 16 points for the Knight JVs, while Leslie Skelton added 10 points.
