VW Marlins compete in swim tri-meet

OTTAWA — The YMCA Marlins traveled to Ottawa to swim in a tri-meet with Putnam County YMCA and Wapakoneta Community YMCA.

In 11-12 Girls, Katie McVaigh took first in five of her six events (50 freestyle, 100 individual medley, 50 backstroke and 100 freestyle).  Also securing first place finishes were Sofia Houg; Emma Pollock and Jamie Burenga.

Risa Pollock claimed four second-place finishes and her sister, Emma, had three. The Marlins’ age 12 & Under swimmers will compete in the YMCA Northwest Ohio Division III sectional next Saturday at the Lima Community YMCA.  The qualifiers from sectionals will then travel to Fremont for the Northwest Ohio YMCA Championships.
